Parco Culturale del Gattopardo is a literary salon and caffé established in Palermo to honor the great Sicilian author and favorite son, Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa. His notable work, Il Gattopardo (The Leopard) follows the family of its title character, Sicilian nobleman Don Fabrizio Corbera, Prince of Salina, through the events of the Risorgimento.

The epic film, Il Gattopardo directed by Luchino Visconti in 1963 starred Burt Lancaster, Alain Delon and Claudia Cardinale. The film won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
