Illy

Ernesto Illy, son of the founder of the well known Italian coffee brand, died Sunday February 3, 2008. He was born in Trieste in 1926 and guided his father's company into the 21st century by building a high-tech laboratory to carefully analyze and roast their beans. He was a chemist and a tireless global evangelist for his coffee. In 1990, his son Francesco began to market artist-designed espresso cups that created collectors all over the world.
