The Charming Taxis of Capri

Capri taxi drivers can be charming entertainers, especially if you have some time and are interested in a tour of the island. One driver, when asked about some of the more famous and expensive hotels on the island remarked "I would have to sleep with my eyes open" in order to justify the nightly rates.

The taxis are often convertibles (some are vintage Fiat 1400's) that allow passengers to enjoy panoramic views of the island. A hat or head scarf and sunglasses are recommended.

N.B.The price is established by the taxi meter but you are strongly advised to establish a price prior to departure. The price will be based on the season, the duration of the tour and the chosen route.
