Andrea Franchetti produces a international-style wine in the Val d'Orcia in Tuscany.


Proprietor / enologist Andrea Franchetti uses double Guyot trained vines with a planting density of up to 10,000 vines per hectare. He has planted French varietals, Cabernet franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, in high density plots. He also uses new oak from Massif Centrale of France when aging his wines.

Mr. Franchetti is developing another vineyard in Sicily at the foot of Mt. Etna. There he makes a wine called Passopisciaro using the Nerello Mascalese varietal.
