Osteria La Porta

Osteria La Porta was recently praised in the latest issue of Gambero Rosso Magazine but our clients have been enjoying Liliana's cooking for years!

Liliana Bonari and her daughter, Daria Capelli have been serving delicious meals for the last six years in a delightful corner of Tuscany. Simple but excellent, La Porta, true to its name, is just inside the old gate to the town and has a lovely terrace with spectacular views across the Val d'Orcia. Daria always has a good selection of wines and local cheeses.

Hi Peggy,

Thank you for posting such a delightful story! We agree with your observations concerning La Porta and if we ever stumble upon that elusive door we will snap a photo and send it along.

Best regards,

james and lori

My family was in Tuscany in April, 2005 and sought out the town of Monticheillo, because of a poster that one of the group had showing a pretty green door from somewhere in the town. We arrived as the sun was setting and strolled around looking for "the door". Soon we realized it was time for the evening meal, so decided to end our door search and find a place to eat. We found Osteria La Porta, right at the gate. The owners were so friendly, the dining room was cozy and charming and the food was delicious. Our primary reason for return to Montichiello on our next visit to Tuscany will be to visit La Porta and maybe as a secondary experience we will find "the door".
