An exciting modern restaurant has opened in Alba, Piemonte thanks to the Ceretto wine family.

Proprietors Bruno, Marcello and Roberta Ceretto of the Ceretto Wine family have opened a non-traditional restaurant featuring the culinary mastery of chef Enrico Crippa. Mr. Crippa's menu has been influenced by his work with Gualtiero Marchesi and at the La Palme d'Or in Cannes and Ledoyen in Paris.

The restaurant housed in a restored 17th-century palazzotto serves sophisticated cuisine announced daily on a blackboard wall in a dining room featuring designer tables and banquets. The chef uses local ingredients and offers a selection of fresh raw fish. There is a fine cellar with 700 labels of small producers. The restaurants' china is designed by artists, Francesco Clemente, Donald Baecheler, James Brown and Robert Indiana.

There is a more casual dining alternative in La Piola also on the premises whose chef Domenico Deraco
offers more traditional fare.

A museum of contemporary art is planned for the future.
