Visiting Torino for the 2006 Winter Olympics? Don't miss a day trip to the Stupinigi Palace.

The Royal family of Savoy’s lavish Baroque “hunting lodge” was designed by the great architect, Filippo Juvarra in 1729-30. The palace is filled with interesting architectural detail, such as the elliptical central salon, and wonderful decorations, such as the frescoed ceiling in the central salon depicting the Triumph of Diana painted by Giuseppe and Domenico Valeriani in 1732. The English garden is noteworthy.
