Is this just another book in the genre of "Under the Tuscan Sun"?
The subtitle of Anne Hawes' book, "A Young Woman Discovers the Italian Riviera, Where Every Month Is Enchanted" may sound like a repeat of the Frances Mayes work but this book may actually be better.
Ms. Hawes bought a hillside cottage in San Pietro, Liguria. Her book chronicles the experience as she recalls her journey filled with trials and tribulations, regional foods, curious characters, wondrous destinations and a resulting knowledge of the Ligurian culture that is both refreshing and insightful.
