Situated in the Aquasanta neighborhood of Palermo, this historic Liberty-style hotel is our hotel of choice while visiting the city.
Built as a sanatorium for the Florio family in the 19th century, it was later enlarged and transformed to a design of Ernesto Basile into the Grand Hotel. Worth seeing are the Sala Basile, a refined example of Palermo Art Nouveau style, with woodwork by Ducrot and paintings by De Maria Bergler.
The guestrooms are spacious and well appointed. with chic amenities by Etro of Milano and internet access. The pool area and gardens are spectacularly sited and the sprawling terrace overlooking the bay is a great place for cocktails before dinner.
Recommended by Lidia Bastianich who uses the hotel for her renown Sicily trips.
