Forte dei Marmi is the pearl of Versilia Riviera. It has a beach of super-fine, light sand, about 20 km long and up to 200 meters wide at points. The beach slopes gently to the sea, providing a perfectly calm beach experience for everyone, especially children.
Florentines come to spend the weekend here so visit during the week when it is less crowded until August when it is packed. The coastal scenes of “The English Patient” were filmed here.

If you are interested in going to a beach club, a place can be rented by the day, week, or month. The daily charge, can range from $75 to $150 (depending on the distance from the water), and includes the use of a cabana, an umbrella, and beach chairs and lounges. Many offer a simple lunch.
