Often, we are asked by our clients, "what is the best way to get to"..... Sorrento, Positano, Praiano, Amalfi and Maiori?
By Car, from the North (Rome and Naples): Take the A1 south to the A3 until you reach Castellamare di Stabia. Take the exit at Castellamare di Stabia and follow the signs to Costiera Amalfitana and Positano.
Between Caserta and Naples there is a traffic detour towards the A30 motorway with a sign stating "Amalfi Coast", DO NOT take this road, continue straight ahead until you reach Naples.
Note: During the holidays and in particular during July and August from 11am until 1:30pm and from 5pm until 7pm the road that connects Castellammare to Sorrento is very busy. We suggest that after you leave the autostrada at Castellammare that you follow the signs to Amalfi Coast via Gragnano - Agerola - Furore, to avoid heavy traffic. You will spend approximately the same amount of time as the first route.
By Car, from the South:Take the "Reggio Calabria - Salerno" motorway and stay on this road until you reach the exit for Salerno. Follow signs for the Amalfi Coast. There is also another option: Do not get off the motorway in Salerno but continue on this road until you reach Castellamare di Stabia. Take the exit at Castellamare di Stabia.
By train, from the North:
The recommended station is Napoli Centrale (Piazza Garibaldi) (Naples). From there, you need to change trains in order to go to Sorrento. Use the train called Circumvesuviana. In the square, under the station you will find a Sita bus that will go the Amalfi Coast. These directions are the same for arrivals in Capodichino's airport. Take a taxi or a bus to the train station of Circumvesuviana, in Napoli Centrale (Piazza Garibaldi). Then take the train to Sorrento. However, we suggest to book a taxi/chauffeur service from the station or the airport, directly from:
