Consider a day or a week trip with captain Mauro Stoppa as he cruises the lagoon of Venice and beyond in his 52 ft. bragozzo.
Mauro's boat, named Eolo, built in the Chioggia shipyards in 1946 had been used for fishing until 1967. It is the last boat still in navigation in the bragozzo category. These flat-bottomed boats were in use in the Venice lagoon since the 15th century.
There are wonderful itineraries available including unseen corners of Venice, stays in private palazzi and special cooking cruises.
A one day cruise costs 300 EURO per person and includes lunch or dinner on board.
A three-day cruise including meals and accommodations costs 2000 EURO per person.
A six-day cooking itinerary costs 3000 EURO per person and includes lagoon trips, a visit to the fish market, cooking lessons, all meals and hotel accommodations.
