Angelo Pellegrini emigrated from the tiny Tuscan village of Casabianca as a young boy. He went on to become a much-loved English professor at the University of Washington and a respected author and food guru.
His wrtings have influenced innumerable professional chefs and food writers like M.F.K. Fisher, Alice Waters and Nancy Harmon Jenkins.
