Hotel Cavalieri Hilton is located on Monte Mario, 15 minutes from the center of Rome by taxi. It is not the most convenient locale but a cool refuge in those blazing hot Roman summers.
This five-star hotel has a grand reception area with four huge paintings by 18th-century Venetian artist Giuseppe Zais. The concierge desks are inset with 17th-century Sicilian marble bas reliefs. There are Bazzanis in the bar, Heintz in the halls, bronzes, tapestries and some Louis XV and First Empire furnishings.
The Health and Fitness Center could be the setting for a film on late Empire decadence. The Turkish bath is triple-arched; the marble and mosaic relaxation area has Imperial-style chaise longues and swagged drapes.
Best rooms are the 8th floor executive doubles and suites for the view.
There are a total of 359 rooms and 17 suites.

Chef Heinz Beck’s roof-garden restaurant, La Pergola (two Michelin stars), serves excellent Mediteranean cuisine in a dining room with a magnificent city view.

We dined at La Pergola for our 10th wedding anniversary and were treated to a night we will never forget. Seated at the best table, we were treated to extrordinary culinary delights. The staff was impeccable and attended to our every need. Chef Beck created masterpieces, the decor was elegant and Umberto, the Manager, made certain our night was ultra-special. We have nothing but the highest recommendations for this absolute fantastic restaurant!
