A Bacaró is an osterie or small bar with food where most Venetians stop for a meal or snack. They are reasonably inexpensive and an excellent lunch spot or for early evening appetizers.
If you would like to truly get in the spirit of Venice try a "giro di ombre" or pub-crawl.
Depart at 7 pm and “follow your legs” and the rhythm of the evening- drinking an ombre and eating a chiceto, an ombre and a cicheto.
The itinerary includes actual trattoria/osterie in case you decide to stop and sit for a meal.
