The geometrically rich facade of the Duomo is actually a 19th century reading of what a Byzantine-Moorish church should look like. The Chiostro del Paradiso accessed through the left hand end of the portico of the Duomo is constructed of interlaced arches that surround a small garden planted with palm trees.
