Proprietor: Christian Imbert

Christian Imbert is one of a kind. Poet, iconoclast and nature lover, he began his career as a grower in 1964 - paradoxically enough - at the wheel of a bulldozer, using dynamite, blood and sweat to prepare the soil. Having lived adventurously in Africa, he fell hopelessly in love with
this corner of Mediterranean maquis where all he needed to do before planting his Nielluccio and Sciaccarello was dig the ground over. Having lived through the threat of fire, Christian the African now speaks the island's dialect fluently and feels he has a Corsican soul. Thanks to his many trips to Paris, where he leads a delegation of Corsican growers always willing and able to noisily celebrate the joys of the island's wines in the capital's bistrots à vin. Imbert's 40 hectares under vines, like his orange groves and olive groves on sandy soil facing the sea, have not seen chemical treatments of any kind for many years. Harvesting is by hand and the wine is aged in cement vats. One cuvée of Nielluccio is obtained with carbonic maceration. The domaine's rosés and whites are also excellent and the olive oil and orange wine are also well worth sampling.
