The carnival of Acrireale is among the most well known and most ancient of Sicily.
The parade of symbolic and floral carts of giant papier-maché puppets and magnificent flower compositions built by professional craftsmen.
In 1996 the carneval of Acrireale joined the lottery of Viareggio and Venece and acquired a national dimension.
