Proprietors: Michel and Francis Egly-Ouriet
18 acres in Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzene
This house owns seven hectares in Bouzy, Verzenay, and most importantly, in the heart of the Ambonnay vineyards and their beautiful south-facing slopes: Les Crayères, Les Secs, Les Feuchères, and Les Beurys. Along with traditional pinot noir grown on the Montagne de Reims, the house owns a good amount of Chardonnay, which is more delicate here than on the rest of the Montagne de Reims. Michel and Francis Egly-Ouriet’s vines are old, thirty-five years on the average, and each parcel is vinified in small vats separately. Only the grapes intended for the vintage Champagnes are vinified together in order to obtain a more harmonious blend and to spotlight the character of the vintage. Jacqueline Egly-Ouriet collects old winemaking tools and exhibits them in the reception hall.

NV Egly-Ouriet Grand Cru Brut- Full bodied, elegant, bright toasty nose with subtle honey scents. Long, dry finish.

NV Egly-Ouriet Brut Rosé- gorgeous, deep pink with a bouquet of wild strawberries, rose petals. Lavish, rich and huge flavors.

NV Egly-Ouriet Blanc de Noirs Vielles Vignes-Aromas of fresh-baked apple pie crust , hazelnuts and red currants. Very long complex finish.

NV Egly-Ouriet Cuvée Speciale-The most highly regarded of the NV wines. 65% pinot noir and 35% chardonnay.

1992 Egly-Ouriet Gran Cru Brut- the vines for this bottling are at least 50 years old. the epitome of the full-bore style of the house.
