Just a quick five minute walk from the center of Positano, Case del Colono is a private gated compound consisting of three independent properties overlooking the bay. The estate is surrounded by citrus and olive trees, flowers and vegetable gardens. There is a secluded staircase to a small beach below the property. Even the local inhabitants are jealous of the amazing panoramic view and close proximity to shops and restaurants!
The beaches of the Amalfi Coast do not have sand, but consist of large, smooth round rocks. It is recommended that you bring aqua socks or flip-flops to make the walk to the water with ease.
Accommodations
ACQUABUONA The main entrance to Acquabuona leads from the terrace to the kitchen. The simple kitchen has a four-burner gas stove, oven, microwave, double sinks, and a dishwasher. It opens directly to the terrace. There is also a small room with washing machine off the terrace. The master bedroom has a king size bed and ensuite bath with tub and shower. The second bedroom which has french doors to the terrace has twin beds and ensuite bathroom with shower.
OUTDOORS There is a large terrace with a flower garden, shaded and sun areas. From the terrace there is a private staircase of a few hundred steps to a semi-private beach accessible only by the houses on the property or by boat from Positano. It is advisable to bring your own beach chair since this beach offers no services.
CASAMARE The Casamare apartment consists of a large master bedroom with in-suite bath with tub. There is a second bath with shower and washing machine. The living room has a sofa bed that sleeps two. Adjoining the living room is a small fully fitted kitchen. There is also satellite TV., heating and A/C. All rooms have balconies overlooking the sea.
OUTDOORS The apartment has a comfortable terrace with views of the sea and the Galli Islands that is bathed in sun all day featuring deck chairs and table and chairs for al fresco dining or entertaining.
IL SARACENO Il Saraceno has a large circular panoramic rooftop terrace (one of the best views in Positano) under which is the main room with a king size bed (mosquito netting), sitting area, and a large fireplace. Two windows overlook Positano and the coast south toward Ravello. There is a table, hot plate, and a small refrigerator for breakfast preparation. Below the main room, down a spiral staircase, is a spacious bathroom of Oriental flavor. Il Saraceno has satellite television and a telephone.
ANNEX: A few steps down from Il Saraceno is an annex with a second full bath, fitted kitchen and a sitting room with a double sofabed. The annex has a telephone and air-conditioning.
OUTDOORS: Outside the annex is a garden terrace where you can partake of a leisurely lunch or dinner at a wrought iron table for four. Adjoining the terrace is a large solarium where one can sit, sunbathe, and enjoy the afternoon or the starry night sky. It is equipped with two lounge chairs and an outside shower.
