Ideally situated in a small tranquil valley below Mount Cetona on one side and overlooking the Val d Orcia on the other, Casale Vetriana is located near the medieval town of Sarteano in the province of Siena close to San Casciano dei Bagni and its famous spa, Bagno Vignoni, Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino and other lovely old Tuscan towns.

The property is approximately 2 hours by car from either Florence or Rome by autostrada. By car: exit the autostrada at Chiusi Chianciano, then to Sarteano with full shopping facilities, then 10 kilometers to the house on a paved road. It is situated in a secluded and quiet area. Getting there: regular train service to Chiusi with rapid trains from Rome and Florence. Air service is via Rome, Florence or Pisa.

There are 30 acres of land surrounding the house much of which is wooded with paths. The rest are tended fields. There is a vegetable garden nearby as well as fresh basil and rosemary.

The pool is 13m x 6m, 1.3 - 2.40m deep with steps and a ladder. The pool is open from 16 May until 18 September 2009. Outside these dates, the pool can be opened on request for a charge of Euro 100 per week.

All furnishings are carefully chosen reflecting the taste of one of the owners who has designed the interiors of many houses and many apartments in Positano in addition to stage and opera productions for Franco Zefferelli.

Accommodations

GROUND FLOOR:

The ground floor has a fully furnished kitchen, dining room, and a three part living room. There is also a bath with shower and toilet and a laundry room.

FIRST FLOOR:

The first floor has three bedrooms, three baths and a studio with a double bed. The master bedroom with king size bed has an en suite bath with Jacuzzi bathtub and a large stall shower as well as a walk in closet. The first of the two guest bedrooms is furnished with a king size bed and an armoire. The bath is just outside the entry to the room, with a full size tub and shower. The second guest room has three built in closets and a kingsize bed. The bathroom is shared with the studio room. The studio room has a closet and double bed. All rooms have windows with views over the property, some of woods and some of fields and the pool.

OUTDOORS:

Beyond the dining room and kitchen doors is a full size terrace that is shaded for comfortable summer dining.
