Thanks for asking about my husband, Tom. He is much better from having shingles, but he really was not up to foreign travel. I, however, am so happy that I went. I really loved staying at Bellavista. It's just a superb apartment and I'm often daydreaming about the view now that I'm home. It seems unreal now. I miss it so much!
I just filled out the online survey and wanted to say thank you. It was a pleasure booking through via travel design. Everything was so expertly arranged. Paola was wonderful and the arrival instructions were so easy and everything went so smoothly. Paola set up a cooking class for us at Il Ritrovo and it was one of the highlights of our trip. It was pouring rain that day so it was the perfect day to be up the mountain cooking. The information you provided on what to do and see and restaurants was all very helpful.
By the way, we randomly met the couple who stayed in Il Saraceno one day while walking the steps of Positano. It was like meeting old friends and they told us how much they loved it. I think for me, though, traveling with a friend, Bellavista was more ideal. I guess everything works out for a reason. But we took a private boat ride down the Amalfi Coast and Il Saraceno looked perfectly situated.
Thanks again! I wish I could book another trip to Positano right now for the spring/summer, but I'll have to settle for staring at the two paintings that I bought of the town.
I will definitely recommend via travel design to my friends.

We had a great time in Loggia Panzano and elsewhere in Tuscany during our stay there. The only thing that was not wonderful was Joan's absence, but she just could not go. Kathleen really enjoyed it and was a great driver the whole week. I never had to get behind the wheel! She is as much in love with Tuscany as the rest of the family.
We did make the wine festival on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. It was raining both days but that did not detract a great deal from the event. We saw Monica there with 2 house guests she had for that week and then again on Friday evening before our dinner at Mimmo's. Incidentally that was a delightful experience. There was general agreement that it was the best meal we had during our stay. Thanks very much for the recommendation. Monica has been traveling a lot and looked very well.
As always the estate in general and Loggia in particular were terrific. The accommodations were superb. We ate a meal in all of the four possible places, including cooking some of Dario's great beef on the outdoor grill and eating it on the patio. Lara was very helpful and seems to be an able replacement for Monica and Anila was great as always. In short things could not have been better and I hope that someday the whole family will be able to be there again. Even our fourth visit there was not enough!

Just wanted to let you know that we had a glorious trip to Italy and Panzano in particular! I love that little town and we had fun with Dario and his wife, and Solociccia was lots of fun as you predicted. Since we were already 14 just one other couple sat with us and although they seemed a little overwhelmed with our group at first, soon we were all having a great time together.
Signora Vittoria made us THE most delicious dinners. Oh, if I could only make pasta as delicious and delicately as she does!!
Everyone was very helpful. Although we all were pretty much able to figure things out on our own Lara and Brian gave us some really good suggestions, too, that we took advantage of. The villa is simply beautiful � the only complaint we had was that the lighting could have been better for reading.
All in all it was a fantastic, memorable trip and one we will never forget! Thank you so much, too, for the wonderful bottle of wine and the birthday card for my mother and me! Of course, we shared it with the rest of the gang. We took the tour of the winery and sampled some wines but we had already had several bottles of them so no mystery there! Excellent! Our uncle helped out with the grape harvesting and enjoyed every minute of it � he did that for three days! He�s going to be 80 in February but still as sprite as ever.
I am so glad I discovered your company � we couldn�t have had a better choice or a better time and I am so grateful to you for all your assistance and guidance.

This home was beautiful! The pictures cannot do it justice. The doors in each bed room that open up to the view made every morning magical. While it was a bit strange for us Americans to have a house keeper every day, and for the house keeper to come in without notice, we quickly got comfortable with Rosanna and realized that she takes tremendous pride in managing the house and always made us feel comfortable. We felt like princesses! The owner was very kind and presented us with fabulous wine. The restaurant just down the stairs was our favorite and we got to be friends with the entire staff. Loved them. Overall, this was a magical place and a trip of a lifetime.

The covered patio was a true bonus. Having comfortable couches and chairs there was the ultimate. The only improvement would be air conditioning, however the fans provided were perfect. The only reason I make that comment is that it was over 40 C while we were there. Thanks again to Roberto for filling the fridge for us. What a difference that makes when you show up with a load of hungry, thirsty, tired teenagers.

Just wanted to drop you a note to tell you what a great time we had at the Villa last week. It was everything you promised and just a beautiful as it appeared in the pictures on your website. Lara and the others were very helpful and could not have been nicer. The kids loved the pool. We met a lot of nice people there. Mimo did a great cooking class and we had nice conversation with him over a great dinner. Il Vescovino was a wonderful recommendation, we ate there twice. In addition, do not hesitate to recommend Mimo's enoteca for lunch or dinner also. He now has a full kitchen, a great menu and is open 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. everyday except Tuesday.

Absolutely wonderful, like a dream, beyond expectations. The location in Tuscany is amazing, so many little towns, restaurants, half way between Florence and Siena. The kitchen is like something out of Master Chef, it has everything in it , every item of equipment for cooking you could possibly want. The resident owners are friendly and helpful but never obtrusive. The pool and gardens were immaculately maintained. Every detail has been thought out in the furnishing of this home which is tasteful and fresh. We loved every minute there and would love to go back.

I wanted to write to you to tell you how so very much we loved Acquabona and our week at the Villa. We started our trip off with our first visit to Capri and thoroughly enjoyed our 3 days there, it is beautiful but quite busy when the day trippers come over. We did get to eat at La Fontellina for lunch and that was well worth it, thanks for the tip.
Our trip over to Positano from Capri went over without a hitch too. I called Paola and arranged for our meeting early the next morning and she had the baggage porters waiting for us as our ferry arrived. We had lunch and then met her to go to the Villa. She is quite pleasant and professional and quickly gave us the details on the villa's equipment workings, keys, etc. Our weather was beautiful except for a few days they blamed on an "African heatwave" which pushed the temperature to the high nineties coupled with humidity and little air movement, but we are used to that. We also got up to Montepertuso and had a lovely lunch at Il Ritrovo. Theresa said to say hi to you and they were kind to treat us to a prosecco and bruschetta. We purchased many supplies at the small Delikatessen right down the steps in Positano and came to enjoy the owners and workers there who were also quite nice and helpful.
The villa is perfectly located with beautiful views, a lovely pool and excellent facilities. So we left Positano for some time in Sorrento, then Naples and visits to the palace of Casserta and the abbey at Montecasino on our way home.
We will always remember this as one of our most beautiful trips anchorerd of course with the week we spent at Acquabuona.

Fourteen of us descended on Casale de Pastore with high hopes for a special vacation. Our hopes were exceeded. The property was stunning, yet down to earth and comfortable. The staff was warm and accommodating, yet completely unobtrusive. The food was amazing. We had so many unforgettable experiences: a day trip to Pienza with lunch and at the recommended (perfect) local bistro; soccer games on the lawn; afternoons by the pool; a tiramisu cooking class with the lovely Francesca; Simone's pizza night forever spoiled Brooklyn pizza for us! I cannot recommend this property more highly. Everyone in our party--from six to 73 said it was the best vacation of their life.

Vigna is an amazing property and Panzano is truly awesome. Just the right size to make it "home" and centrally located for lots of day trips if you can make yourself leave the property. We loved walking through town and our children felt right at home. Restaurants were excellent both in Panzano and neighboring towns. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful and we felt like we really got to know them. We also met some really nice people who were staying in another Villa on site. We were sad to leave!

Our family’s time spent at Via Lambertesca was absolutely the highlight of our summer. We could not have imagined the luxury of this apartment that combines every modern convenience with the charm and beauty of the historic center of Florence. From the minute we stepped into the building with its beautiful décor we were greeted by Grace, who could not have been more accommodating and pleasant. When she accompanied us to the apartment and opened the door we immediately felt at home. The furnishings and every small detail at Via Lambertesca are of the highest quality and it is obvious that great care was taken in the renovation of the entire palazzo. The terrace overlooking the rooftops of the nearby homes was picturesque and provided us with a quiet place for reading a book or dining al fresco.
Grace is an excellent chef not to mention extremely knowledgeable about restaurants, museums and of course shoe stores for our teenage daughters…We told her we’d be back next summer, I’m already looking forward to it!

Palazzo Vescovi had to be the MOST beautiful place on earth I have seen so far! I am in love with Positano and a part of my soul is left there at the palazzo. Our chef, Enza, was fabulous and I never left home at night because our days were so full, the dinner so satisfying, that I had no need to leave our palace! Diana was wonderful and helpful every time we had questions or needed advice. The only thing that I would add is the issue of the amount of stairs you have to climb to reach the property. If a person was not in good physical condition, there would be no way for them to deal with those stairs! Towards the end, my legs were finally used to it, but the first few days were physically draining. It was truly worth it once we arrived, but anyone who cannot climb lots of stairs should not stay here. Otherwise, it was heaven on earth. The location certainly made the villa more appealing since it was a palace in a place all its own. I am a changed person after being there and the people I met are in my heart and soul for my lifetime! I wish I could have stayed for way longer! That was the only negative for me....two or three weeks next time for sure! I am now going to learn Italian as well. The Rosetta Stone was good for a few phrases, but I am determined to become fluent in the language before I go again! We even experienced the remarkable firework display to honor St. Vito, the patron saint of Positano that rivaled those I saw in Boston in 1976!!!! Remarkable is not a strong enough word though! Thanks for your assistance and advise! We have certainly passed your name along to everyone we know!

I wanted to send you a personal email to tell you that you were absolutely right about La Colonna being a perfect spot for our family! It was so wonderful being able to walk up the hill to the town, which was more of a bustling town than we envisioned. Our grand kids made use of the little playground in town several times, and of course, we all enjoyed the bar with the gelato. We did indulge ourselves one night at Dario's for the beef dinner - it was a great experience, delicious food and a fun atmosphere. We also went up to Vescovino and had a delicious meal there - a gorgeous warm evening out on the terrace watching the sunset over the vineyards - what could be more perfect?! We also took your advice and went early to the Panzano market on Sunday and bought roast chicken and some delicious kebabs and other fixings for a good dinner that night. Regarding the villa itself I wanted to say that Lara, the manager is outstanding. She is so warm and friendly and helpful. Also Annila the housekeeper was always there to help with any minor thing. They both came to the house as we were packing to leave and both bid us a warm farewell with hugs all around. Lara arranged for Maria to prepare dinner for us one night and we really enjoyed that -- what a charming lady and a very good cook! Lara also arranged for us to visit the family winery where we had a brief tour and a tasting -- their Chianti is wonderful and we enjoyed the 2 complimentary bottles which Lara gave us when we checked in. Guy and I have never been to Italy in June and we were dreading overcrowded cities like Firenze and Siena, but did not find it bad. One advantage of being there in June (which was a big deal to me since I love gardening) was seeing so many plants and shrubs in bloom. The oleanders were as tall as a small tree and in full bloom, the stone walls were covered with jasmine, the lavender bushes were huge and wonderfully scented. We were very impressed with the landscaping around La Colonna - it is very lushly planted and meticulously maintained. Sorry I'm rambling on -- you can tell how pleased we were with everything. La Colonna was a perfect size for our family - plenty of room for the little ones to run around outside and blow off energy -- plenty of privacy for couples in their own bedroom areas -- and a nice spacious living area. It's a perfect place with outstanding management in a perfect location! So thank you, thank you!

Well the busy summer is finally over and as I reflect on all the things we did, our visit to Positano comes right to the top.
Our one week stay at Villa Donatello in May 2009 is a memory we will all cherish. The villa was everything we hoped for and more. We were a party of six adults and one infant and the villa fit us perfectly room wise. There was lots of space both inside and out so we never felt crowded or too close together. The villa is beautifully furnished but we spent most of our time outside under the lemon tree enjoying the beautiful views. Roseanne looked after our every need and was always ready answer questions and give advice about what to do and how to get there. Her mother came one evening to prepare a typical Italian dinner and it was wonderful! Certainly a highlight of the week! A nice touch was that on the evening of our arrival the owner of the villa called to welcome us and make sure we were well accommodated. I would certainly recommend Villa Donatello to anyone looking for a special holiday with family and/or friends.

Amazing property, beautiful setting and a great slice of history. I think that we were early in the season, heat was definitely needed in Il Saraceno at night and we did get it turned back on. Loved, loved the location and privacy. Great to have the separate annex for our son. Views amazing ++++ ... would love to return at some point later in the season, when warmer, pool functioning etc. All adjunct staff great, Car service could not have been better.. used them alot. Your list of side trips etc. was super.

The 'Great' rating is not superlative enough to describe the quality of both your service and the properties. This is the second time we have rented an Italian country house from your firm. Our initial experience two years ago was so positive that I decided use your service again. Unfortunately, the Villa Barberino house was not available. James helped me find another property, La Colonna in Panzano, that he felt would accomodate my family's needs. I was skeptical at first as it was a property comprising several apartments. James assured me that privacy was well provided for and that there was the added benefit of being able to walk to town. He was correct on both counts. Each apartment(and I use the term loosely since ours was more a two story house) had it's own private terrace with it's own outdoor seating and grill. The grounds were lovely, landscaped in lavender, rosemary (which I used for cooking)and roses. Alina, the housekeeper was kind and helpful as was Lara, the property manager. There was absolutely no misunderstanding what was included in the contract. There were no hidden 'extra costs' as friends of mine renting from other agencies had discovered. Panzano was delightful. The restaurants you recommended served excellent Tuscan cuisine with great wine selections. My 12 year old daughter and her cousin were able to make their daily 'gelato run' into town for their favorite dessert. (Thanks, James.) All in all, we had a marvelous time at this wonderful property. Your Web site was what first attracted me to your agency. It has a modern, uncluttered look with many photos of each property. I like how you keep adding helpful information such as if a town is in walking distance. The more information the better! Just one additional comment--in Tuscany you hear the word 'artisanal' used frequently to describe high quality, hand-crafted foods, arts and crafts. I think that Via Travel Design merits that label as well for your exceptional properties and personalized, hands-on service.

Panzano in Chianti is a beautiful location - just breathtaking! I particularly liked being just a 5 minute walk to town. The villa itself was also beautiful and well maintained. We had a wonderful time during our stay at Villa Ortensia. The villa exceeded our expectations (from the photographs) and provided us with a comfortable base from which to explore the Chianti region. The layout of the villa worked well with our large group and provided us with a nice variety of spaces. The grounds were beautiful and nicely maintained by Eduardo. We also enjoyed our wine tour with Simone. It was interesting to see both a larger winery (Fontodi) as well as a smaller family run winery (Casaloste). We already look forward to our next trip to Tuscany.

Acquabuona is a fab property, can't beat the views! It offers a lot of privacy and is an authentic Positano home. Walking the stairs to the pool and beach allowed us to enjoy unlimited guilt free gelato! A terrific holiday. We would definitely stay there again.
Via Travel is one of the best in the industry--expanding your properties in other areas is my only suggestion. I know I can count on accurate property descriptions, quality and cleanliness with Via. We will continue to recommend Via to friends. Thanks again for a great holiday.

First and foremost let me tell you what a fantastically wonderful holiday we spent in Tuscany!The Villa far exceeded our expectations...in fact it was one of the few times that the reality was better than the sold product! I think you certainly need to update your photographs and if there is something really good among all "our photographs" I will pass them along to you. We were all in a state of total bliss, marvelling at the beauty of the surrounding undulating hills dotted with silvery olive groves, tall cypresses and lush vineyards. The sounds of the church bells across the valley and the many birds in our garden mingled with our laughter and we all felt so much joy and togetherness. Thank you Lori and James.
Sandra was wonderful..warm and bubbly and caring and she really opened up her heart for us.Rolando was efficient and painstaking in his work, very helpful(he got married during our stay!) and a very nice person.Paula,the cook from the village,produced the most delicious dinners every night(we didn't need to go out for a single dinner!)and Sandra was just wonderful cooking,cleaning,shopping for our daily groceries and chipping in wherever she was needed. Greetings, Lori and James....Not a day goes by that Bob and I don't reminisce in some small way about our 2 weeks at Il Saraceno this past May. Vacationing in our own private fortress overlooking the Mediterranean was a scene right out of a postcard, only we were part of the scenery! Our living quarters were so uniquely 'old world' and steeped in history that it was easy to believe we were becoming more Italian with each day. And the 27 curving stone stairway to the decorative tile bathroom was always worth the trip, helping us work up an appetite for our next glorious meal, whether under our own pergola or at one of the many remarkable outdoor restaurants that are so prevalent in Positano. We were especially delighted to have our own kitchen (with wiew of Positano in the distance), and the ability to prepare a platter of fresh hearty bread, a variety of local cheeses, an assortment of native olives, and a fine red wine to enjoy outdoors on our patio. And as if this weren't sufficient for the vacation of a lifetime, we were thrilled to have access to the stone staiway leading to the Mediterranean Sea, where I made certain to take a swim while a dramatic view of the rocky cliffs surrounded me, as Bob took photos to savor the memory for all time. Is it any wonder that we are still recalling on a regular basis the magical memories of our Positano experience?

The Villa was absolutely beautiful and provided the magical home environment we imagined for our stay in this lovely town. Positano was a wonderful experience that we will not soon forget. The surroundings were enchanting. We traveled the Amalfi Coast visiting Pompeii, Naples, Sorrento, Ravello, Amalfi, Salerno, Paestum, Gragnano and Capri. Luigi De Martino was a wonderful resource, providing outstanding transport services to us. His stories and suggestions really enhanced our travel experience. And what better place to call home than Villa Donatello. The patio with the lemon tree pergola was my absolute favorite. Please extend our sincere appreciation to the owner. His home is a treasure. Our time in Rome was remarkable too. We thoroughly enjoyed Italy and all it has to offer. And one of the members in my party was able to meet his first cousin in Gragnano. It was heartwarming to say the least!

Where do we begin? We felt like we were in Paradise! We arrived at the property earlier than we had anticipated to find Susanna's note on the gate welcoming us and the telephone number to contact her. You are correct, she is delightful. She came over right away and gave us thorough instructions on the Villa. "Anything you want you call me" she said when leaving. After her departure we relaxed with our welcome bottle of wine and the wonderful tray of cold cuts, cheese, salad, etc. After walking the grounds we all decided to take a swim that was very invigorating (or just downright cold). That evening we ventured to La sosta di Pio VII for dinner, wine and laughter to return safely to the villa for some of Susanna's tiramisu. And the was only our first half day! We love the sight, you handle some beautiful properties. There are some larger (and more expensive) but Villa Barberino met and exceeded our expectations and our comforts. And did I mention the view? ell everyone to have Susanna cook dinner for them every night possible - it is delicious, delightful and decadent!

It was just as charming as I had hoped! The only problem was we didn't stay long enough, hopefully there will be a next time. Suzanne was a delight. We had a fantastic time in San Casciano and Villa al Sole.....it met our needs to perfection and we fell in love with Sandra and family....they could not have been more gracious to Dad and our family.
The first floor bedroom suite was perfect for Dad....at 90, he finally had an accommodation that suited him. The bathrooms were the best we have encountered since we have begun our villa rentals...the water pressure was better that at home. And Sandra's linens were lovely and the best we've had ever as well. They changed the towels often and the daily cleaning and making of beds by Rolando was well appreciated.
We went on many excursions including Siena, Florence three times, Lucca, Greve, San Gimingnano and Montereggioni and Montespertoli....all wonderful. Mike rented a bike in a small town whose name eludes me and loved riding in the Tuscan hills.
Thank you for your help in finding us this perfect location...we could not have been more pleased.
The highlight of our trip was our days spent at Villa al Sole around the pool and celebrating the harvest.

This is an unparalleled property that the pictures just don't reflect. As with many things in Italy, the attention to design and decoration, along with the amazing views, and the multiple hang-out spaces, made the villa a joy to experience. The 78-y-o gardener is a complete character, though you need to speak Italian to understand him, and the housekeepers are kind and helpful.

Thank you Lori and James ! We had a marvelous time at Villa Buoninsegna. As mentioned by another traveler the website really could not do this spectacular house justice. The view from the balcony of this property alone is worth renting the house as it looks across valley below with both Sienna and San Gimignano visible. Sunsets were a treat. The pool is fantastic with ample deck chairs (not mentioned on the website)and dining table (we never used it). Inside the house is spacious and clean, the bedrooms large and comfortable, the kitchen has all you need. We booked Mrs. Nunziaetta (sp?) to cook for us for two nights and her lasagna was the best any of us have ever tasted. It was very nice to come home knowing a 4-course meal was on the way. The location (once we found it) was ideal. 7 km. from Castellina, which we all loved, was quaint to hang out in and had the stores needed to stock the house with food and drink. Siena a half hour away, Florence about an hour on the Chianti road and great Chianti hill towns near and far. We would return to this Villa in a heartbeat and are already missing our time there. Thanks again for a great recommendation and we are sure to tell our friends about Via Travel. Loved your tips on the region.

My daughters & I LOVED the apartment...the view, it's proximity to the center, transportation and for getting to other locations such as Amalfi, Ravello, Capri, Pompeii. Positano was enchanting (if you looked beyond all us American tourists). The beach areas were great & all of our meals at local restaurants were thoroughly enjoyable. Paola was a dear & very helpful as was the lovely woman at the alimentari (sp ?) Had a little difficulty w/buses & telephone but we managed. The Flavio transportation service was a real find. We booked our driver, Luigi, for an excursion to Pompeii as well as the to & from trip to Napoli. In fact, we were so delighted with the total experience that I've already recommended your service as well as Flavio Transport to others. I'll be in touch next trip to Italy....

From the first moment we arrived at the villa, until the moment we left, our experience was purely magical. Although the villa looked amazing on the website, it was even more incredible (if you can believe it) in person. No detail was overlooked. The villa was clearly restored with considerable care, and decorated perfectly. The location cannot be beat, either. The views were gorgeous, particularly at night when the local hilltop towns were lit. Anna our house-woman was wonderful. She and Paula (the cook) organized an incredible welcome dinner for us that was quite a feast. Breakfast was always plentiful as well. Any need we had she tended to it immediately, always reassuring us we were in the very best hands. Elisabetta was very accommodating and a delight; always making sure everyone was taken care of. The local towns at night were a nice respite after going to more popular places like Florence and Siena during the day. Ribolla was charming and we befriended the ambitious owner, Jhonny, of a new restaurant, Amici. In Montepescalli (a local hill town) we found the Falcon restaurant, which left us wondering how we could replicate such an intimate, tantalizing meal back home. Roccatederighi, another hill town, was great for more tasty meals and great views of Tuscany. Last but not least, the villa certainly lent itself to being a wonderful place to entertain. Since we had our wedding at the villa, in the days preceding the villa was home-base for the guests staying nearby. There was always something to do: play ping pong, go for a swim, relax in a lounge, read a book, go on a jog, ride a bike, or play a round of golf (although we regrettably never got around to doing that). The day of the wedding was perfect. We will never forget our amazing week at the villa, and absolutely cannot wait to return.

The background information on the apartment and Positano was most helpful. It helped us get right into the area and enjoy from the time we arrived. Paola was very personable and accomodating. Anna also the same.
We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the apartment. Your description was accruate but we were cautious in our expectations cause of typical over-statement in such descriptions.
Overall, we had a terrific time. We had been to Positano 25 years before on our honeymoon and not returned since. We were realistically thinking that our view was tinged with rose colored glasses and we might not find reality at the same level of our memory. But we found it better! We had stayed at Il San Pietro the first time there. It was better being in an aparatment right in Positano. Waking up every morning to the vista is good for the soul! Thanks for your great service. We will be back to you the next time we are thinking about a sojourn in Europe.

Hi Lori-my family and I just returned from a week at Villa Barberino and while I certainly don't want to call more attention to this exceptional property, I feel I would be remiss in not singing its praises. The house exceeded our expectations in every way-it is both beautiful and comfortable. The location is very convenient to all of the Chianti region but I have to admit that there were some days I did not want to leave the house even to take a short trip to Siena or San Gimignano. The lure of a good book and that wonderful arbor by the pool was too strong.
I cannot say enough about Susanna, the housekeeper. She was gracious and helpful in every way. We had her prepare several meals for us and they rank right up there with the best trattoria meals we had in Italy.
Finally, I would like to compliment you and Via Travel Design. Your attention to detail and follow-up was impeccable. Both Susanna and Claudia,the owner, had high praise for you. They both think you are 'molto brava'! I have recommended your agency to several friends.
I promised my family that we will return to Villa Barberino so hopefully, we will be working with you in the future!

Thanks so much for all of your help. Our vacation could not have been any better. The villa was everything we needed and the location was superb. We had breakfast at the hotel each morning and spent the last night there before leaving for Naples, so our last day was spent on their veranda. Your suggestion for our driver was the best. Umberto 85 was wonderful. We all wanted to take him home with us. He was so knowledgeable about the area, and willing to put up with four women. Our trip to Pompeii was wonderful. He took us to Amalfi twice (the second time was to pick up handbags we had made). That really wasn�t our favorite place, however, but we did see other places in the area on that trip. I just watched the video of the villa and was rewarded with the most lovely memories. I could almost smell the scent of those amazing yellow flowers Graziela brought in to the house every day and feel the breeze and hear the bees floating about. I long to be back at Casa Zingone these days with the approaching one year anniversary since our visit. Please remember us to the amazing Graziela. We still talk about our days with her. My son says he is going back to Italy and wants to live with her one of these days! They made quite a connection. What was the name of the yellow flower so prominent going up the driveway to the villa? We are thinking of going back to Italy in 2008. Adam, my son, wants to see Venice now! He is a world traveler now and thanks to you and the Casa Zingone experience, he will always have Italy as a destination in his future!

Everything about the Villa Palazzuolo was wonderful. We met our group (total 9 of us) at the Chiusi train station and had a 3 car caravan to the Villa which took less than 1/2 an hour. When we got out of the car and saw that view from the Villa, everyone was speechless. The Val d' Orcia must be one of the most beautiful places I've been to in all my travels. As we entered the house and discovered every room, both the men and women were gushing with enthusiasm. The Villa is fairly large, but we tended to congregate in the dining area off the kitchen or outside in the patio area. We were not looking for a rustic villa, so this villa was perfect for our group of 6 women and 3 men. We loved the owner's decorating style. I have to mention Cristina. She is an incredible woman. Can she cook! We had her cook for us on 4 separate occasions and each time was like a feast. Her pastas were excellent and her desserts were my absolute favorite. Even though she speaks very little English and we speak no Italian, we seemed to communicate fine. She took care of us -- she even killed a snake outside the back door one night that was in the path of one of my friends. We all wanted to bring Cristina home with us. The real lesson that we all learned was that renting a villa for the week ended up being very economical for us and we had a "home away from home" that we yearned to go back to every day after touring the countryside. The best time was sitting outside with all of our friends, looking over the valley below, drinking wine and exchanging stories of our daily outings. Yes, I absolutely hope to return to this area and quite possibly to this Villa again in the future. This trip was better than I could have imagined. If anyone is contemplating whether or not to stay at a Villa, I would wholeheartedly tell them to do it. This was a once in a lifetime vacation for all of us and especially for me since we were celebrating my 50th birthday!
You have one of the best websites that I have found on the web (and I looked at quite a few over the course of several months). The pictures really show what the Villa looked like and so I didn't feel there were any real surprises. I liked the fact that 1) you were here in the US and it made it easier to deal with you as opposed to dealing with someone in Italy, 2) You were always professional and, 3) You answered my emails immediately. Thank you for helping us arrange the best vacation ever. I look forward to using your services again should I decide to rent a villa.

In fact, with the hassle of parking in Florenceand some of the other towns, the best times we had were just relaxing at the villa.
We would definitely do it again. It’s actually a wonderful vacation for three couples or for an extended family and I’m sure you have plenty that lease from you every year.
I would definitely only rent from your company again as you and James do such a professional job with everything and it made it very easy for me to plan. I’m very busy and I definitely appreciated the detailed instructions.

Our 25th Wedding Anniversary was very 'Special' , Thanks to the wonderful location of this property, we were thrilled and more than happy with our choice. We would be happy to recommend Il Saraceno to anyone who wishes to celebrate a special occasion in the future, we hope to return again someday as we love Italy so much, Positano was more than we had hoped for too. So many restaurants to choose from and some great meals and wine! The weather was the icing on the cake for us nice and hot and sunny so we could not have asked for anything more. Plus the people of Positano including Paola who were so very nice to deal with and she was very accomodating showing us around the property when we arrived! Eva too was a lovely lady who cleaned for us and even though I spoke no Italian we seemed to be able to communicate somehow?
"Thanks" again for telling us about this wonderful property, we were truly lucky to have found such a wonderful place at such 'late notice' but it was the "BEST"!!
Our Anniversary memories will be truly cherished and we cannot wait to return again sometime in the future, maybe for our 30th??!! We found the beautiful views from Il Saraceno hard to leave behind as they were magnificient.

Villa Donatello Amalfi Coast September 2006
We had a wonderful time and the Villa was beautiful and perfect for our friends and family to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. The call from the owner when we got there and the wonderful attitude of Rosanna, the housekeeper, made the experience very nice. The location was great and we all lost weight hiking up the 900 steps from the beach. Other than a few ants and bugs, everything was perfect. I would encourage anybody to stay there if they want to really experience Positano and have a wonderful time. We went to Capri and rented a boat and cruised the Amalfi Coast and just relaxed on the beach. Our friends in the penthouse loved their place and we all enjoyed the incredible view from their deck. We also loved having the little market and being able to make our own Italian dinner a couple of nights. Our group had a wonderful stay at La Casaccia. Marcella's food was fantastic.
We did a day trip to Florence, via train, on Tuesday (Marcella's day off). Very exhausting but fun.
Our visits to Castillo Banfi and Poggio Antico, both south of Montalcino, were excellant. Good restaurants and tours followed by shopping in Montalcino. We would highly recommend these two stops for future travelers.

Casa Stefania was wonderful. In fact, it exceeded our expectations. The pictures of the views on the website don't do justice to the actual fact. The views were spectacular. Teresa was absolutely wonderful. Kept the place great and even did all our laundry. We had her cook a delicious meal and she served it out on the terrace. Truly delightful. One, the previous clients had commented on how valuable the recommendations were in the email. And they were 100% correct. James was kind enough to supply a short list from the longer list of recommendations and we did almost every one. Without exception, they were all excellent choices. Didn't even have to think! In particular, lunch at La Fontelina on Capri was perhaps my fondest memory of the whole trip....the Faragolini rocks, wow! All of the other detailed information was very helpful as well, from the car service to where to buy groceries. All in all, a trip we will never forget. Thanks so much, James and Lori!

This was a fantastic property and exceeded our expectations! The views and balcony's were gorgeous. The inside, was functional and well maintained. The bedrooms are small but that did not bother us.
Although it was not located in the center of town, the location was still great with many restaurants which were fantastic and not as crowded as the beach area establishments. We received great service from the staff, including cleaning almost everyday. We had problems with the hot water and they came out immediately to correct the problem. This was an overall fantastic experience.
We all would like to thank via travel design for all of your assistance as well as the owners of Casa Lorenzo for opening their spectacular home to us. We would definetely recommend this property for groups of four or less people.

We had a marvelous time at Casa Zingone. I cried when I had to say ciao to Graziella. I don't have the words to describe what I experienced under that Tuscan sun which are adequate to give people I tell about my trip to. Something happened deep within my soul there that I hope stays with me forever. The place is incredibly spiritual for me, and I still can't believe that I was there and took a tubby under the Tuscan sun.
Graziella was such a treasure for us. She took care of us like we were family and I really hated to say goodbye to her. The smell of whatever those yellow bushes were is hopefully imprinted in my senses somehow. By the way, what were they? The smell in the house was something I wish I could have bottled and taken home with me.
Thank you for everything though. We really had one of the most exquisite vacations ever. My 11 year old son also loved every bit of it. The cartoon network was a bit of a lifesaver for him too. After spending all day with your crazy parents, that was just the ticket for him to unwind to! Please feel free to use us for references. I would highly recommend Casa Zingone. The place is magical.

I can not tell how great our trip was ...we loved the villa, we loved Monica we loved...the village of Panzano it was beyond charming, and the shop keepers were very pleasant and more than amused with our consumption of fruit juices, cereal and cheese. We had boots and shoes hand made and we hired a chef from panzano to cook our last meal at the villa.
All of the information that you sent to us before hand was used as if it were a bible and praise the lord for it....it was very informative and extremely useful.
I can't thank you enough for providing one the best rental services I have ever used in my 8 years of travel to Italy!

Paul and I thank you again for recommending we stay at Il Saraceno to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary in September. It was an enchanting place to stay in the always-enchanting Positano. In a way, it was exactly as you described it, and pictured it on your website; I say in a way because there are no words or pictures that can truly reflect the beauty of the site the ancient tower abode, with all its charm; the pristine private beach where I spent the better part of a day completely alone with my books and thoughts; and the absolutely stunning view from the bedroom, the terrace, or from just about anywhere on the property. It was spectacular!
Paola was there to meet us, and available to assist us throughout our stay. She was very kind, even offering to give Paul and me a ride (via her boat) to the San Pietro. It was nice to have a local looking out for us.
We also want to thank you for all of the recommendations you provided on what to do once we got settled at Il Saraceno. Everything you recommended be it a shuttle service, cafe restaurant, grocery store, pottery shop, etc.was terrific. I am amazed that you are able to keep your list of recommended places to go so current and GOOD; however you are doing it, keep it up! Your pre-trip guidance and suggestions were invaluable.

Once again I write to tell you what a wonderful time we had in a place that you found for us. Loggia was even better than we had anticipated. Of course we knew how beautiful the estate is , the village of Panzano, and the surrounding area were, having stayed in the Vigna apartment for a great week last year.
Because we had a larger group this year, Loggia was perfect for us, spacious, extremely well laid out and furnished, and providing spectacular views. The large common areas, living room dining room, kitchen and loggia, brought us together, yet each of the four bedrooms with baths were laid out to give quiet private spaces. As before Monica and Anila were extremely competent, as well as a joy to deal with.
In summary we had a great time in a terrific setting and are pleased to have again benefited from your excellent advice and services.

What a fantastic adventure!! The Villa was everything we hoped it would be and more!! Rosanna, Theresa and Domenico were just delightful and so very helpful.
Luigi De Martino was an added delight and with his local knowledge, made our excursions a wonderful adventure.
We had superb dinners at Il Fornillo and twice went to Montepertuso to dine at Ristorante Scirocco and Il Taglione (the name was something like that, it was a ways on past the town).
I enjoyed the best clams and mussels ever (over & over & over!!!) and we consumed more than our share of wines from Ravello and wonderful lemoncello!!!

It was marvelous! The villa is more beautiful, grand, than the photos of it we saw before we left. We loved it. La signora Nunziatina is delightful and we did manage to communicate well enough; she was lovely. We met the owners who are also the caretakers, they are charming and were just so pleasant to any one of us they communicated with.
Thank you both; it was a magnificent two weeks, exhausting, but memorable.
The whole thing is in our memory now, for always. A wonderful way to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.
We cannot get over how beautiful Toscana is. Loved especially Vagliali, Castellina in Chianti, San Giminiano, Volterra, and of course Firenze; I was not bowled over by Siena, but our kids who returned there loved it as well.

There are no words to describe this property. Upon arrival, two of my guests actually came to tears. Not only the beauty of the property and surrounding area but the caring way everything is thought of or attended to. Graziella was warm and kind. Mr. Miani was gracious. We found the giant mosquitos difficult at night and would bring netting or something if returning. Also, the steps to the pool were difficult for some of the guests, the pictures do not reflect this. Oh, and that access road...But, no problems of that sort could diminish the beauty of our experience at Zignone, it has changed us forever!
Casa Zingone, is paradise! We feel no other vacation home can compare to that experience.
You have a great website. I often click through it if I've had a bad day at work and need a mini-escape. I forward pics often to friends and love to get call backs with "oohs" and "aahs".

Casa Zingone is a beautiful property with spectacular setting/views. Four adults and five kids were accommodated easily. The main living space of this house (i.e. family room, dining room, porch) was particularly easy to maneuver with a big group due to its excellent layout and lots of access to the outdoor sitting/dining areas. Bedrooms were impeccably but comfortably furnished, as were public areas. Laundry facilities were a major bonus. The food hamper and other staples available at the house made our arrival and first few days very pleasant. The housekeeper/cook Graziela, who prepared dinner three nights and babysat once, was the icing on the cake!

Villa Le Masse was spectacular - exceeding my expectations. The photos were not able to do it justice. This home was perfect for our 14 person family group; The owners and the housekeeper were most welcoming and the extra meals prepared for us by Monica were great.
The home was extremely central to Florence and Siena and allowed us to really expore Chianti and the Val d'Orcia easily, and still have time to relax and enjoy the pool, the vista and the very comfortable home.

What a fantastic trip! And such an historic week to be in Rome!!!
We were actually in the Vatican last Tuesday, just a few hours before the "white smoke" of the new pope. What are the chances of that!
Via Lucullo was wonderful, and Olga couldn't have been more gracious. The information you guys provided was awesome--- we ate at Tullio and Papa Baccus and the Cafe de Paris (for old time sake). One thing--- the Room Restaurant across the street is closed, so you can update your info. Also, we found another little gem of a restaurant, Cantina Cantarini, Piazza Sallustio 12 (06 485 528/474 3341) just about a 4 minute walk along Via Sallustiana from Via Lucullo. It was homey, casual, with locals and families eating there--- a really high quality trattoria with extremely reasonable prices. I would recommend it.
The only thing I would do differently is reserve a car from the airport in Rome, the detail of which slipped through my mind this time. Olga said, "Then you would arrive like a princess!"
We saw lots of art, and actually found the Chapel of Pope Nicholas in the Vatican Museum where the Fra Angelico frescos were just as lovely as I remember them!!

Vigna was great! The view was spectacular, the appointments in the apartment were excellent (the tiles in the bath rooms were as beautiful as we have seen), the location was terrific, and the people especially Monica but also Anila the housekeeper and everyone else we dealt with were wonderful.
As I told Joan when we returned I wish we were leaving instead of arriving. Tuscany is such a magical place and the estate, Panzano and the surrounding area can't be beat. We had a very interesting tour of the winery (Marina who showed us around was a very pleasant knowledgable young woman). The wine festival on the last night we were there was superb

The house was great - everything we expected it to be. I do have two suggestions about this particular house. The last two hundred yards of the dirt road up to the house is pretty rough. Some of our guests had cars with low ground clearance which would hit bottom on some of the pot holes. Our car had no problem. You might want to advise future guests to rent cars with normal or high ground clearance for this particular house. You also might want to add that the Val d' Orcia, which is your view from the house, is now a United Nations World Heritage site.
We thought that your website and your service was great and plan to use you again. Southern France maybe?
